Homemade Cinnamon Brown Sugar Granola | Easy Everyday Recipe

AuthorBronwyn Case
Homemade Cinnamon Brown Sugar Granola is a fall classic.
Servings1 half gallon

Ingredients

  • 450 g rolled oats 4½ cups
  • 75 g pumpkin seeds ½ cup
  • 75 g sunflower seeds ½ cup
  • 100 g chopped nuts almonds, pecans, walnuts, and/or hazelnuts - 1 cup
  • 25 g ground flax 2 tbsp
  • 50 g butter ¼ cup
  • 85 g brown sugar ½ cup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine the oats, seeds, nuts, and salt. Stir to distribute everything evenly.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and let it go for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  3. Drizzle the warm mixture over the dry ingredients and toss gently with a wooden spoon until everything is evenly coated. Take your time here — you want every oat covered.
  4. Spread the granola evenly onto a lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and fragrant. Rotate the pan(s) halfway through if your oven runs uneven.
  5. This is the most important step — let the granola cool completely on the pan before touching it. It crisps up as it cools. Break it apart once fully cooled and store in an airtight jar.
